Blue Plaques Scheme for Willesden Jewish Cemetery

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new Blue Plaque scheme at Willesden Jewish Cemetery a project that brings together heritage, storytelling and community support.

The scheme highlights individuals buried at the cemetery, sharing their stories and celebrating their contributions to Jewish life, to London, and beyond. As well as raising awareness of our shared heritage, the plaques will also support vital conservation and heritage work across the cemetery.

The first plaques honour Isaac Moses Marsden, and Alice and Henry Lucas - individuals whose lives and legacies form part of the rich and diverse story of our community. You can read their story here: https://www.willesdenjewishcemetery.org.uk/lifestories

This is both a heritage project and a fundraising initiative, helping to ensure that Willesden Jewish Cemetery continues to be cared for, interpreted and shared with future generations.

If you would like your family story to be remembered and showcased as part of this project, we would be very pleased to hear from you:
