“Country Houses, Jewish Homes” Exhibition in Gunnersbury Park

In May 2023 our volunteers and staff had the pleasure of visiting Gunnersbury Park and touring the historic house and seeing the 'Country Houses, Jewish Homes' exhibit in the gardens. Did you know that Gunnersbury has ties to the Rothschilds? The last member of the family to live there, Leopold de Rothschild, passed away in 1917, and his son Evelyn died the same year having been critically wounded during the 13 November Battle of Mughar Ridge.

Willesden Jewish Cemetery is the final resting place of many Rothschild family members, and our team was fascinated to learn more about this incredible place and its connections to Jewish history.

We look forward to hosting the Gunnersbury Park team for a Guided Walk at WJC soon!

If you'd like to volunteer with us and enjoy the many benefits including similar away days, please get in touch! https://www.willesdenjewishcemetery.org.uk/volunteer
