Want to be part of uncovering the hidden stories in the cemetery?

Purpose of the role

This research role will support our team of Social Media Story Tellers. We’re looking for someone to research and compile a dossier of information that can be used to create ‘On this day…’ digital content relating to those buried at Willesden Jewish Cemetery or the cemetery itself. Ideally we’re looking for someone with previous research and social media experience who would approach the task from a creative angle.

Key responsibilities:

  • To research engaging and topical content to be used in the popular ‘On this day…’ online format.

  • To create a clear dossier of information that can be used by the social media team.

  • To understand the tone and scope of our social media content.

  • To use digital and paper archives to accurately research content.

  • To communicate with staff and other volunteers to support sharing your research with the public.

What we are looking for:

  • A passion for uncovering the history of the Willesden Jewish Cemetery.

  • Experience in conducting historical research.

  • Knowledge of different social media platforms and a familiarity with how heritage organisations use digital platforms to engage with the public.

  • Ability to organise information in a clear fashion using relevant software.

  • Confidence in using online and printed sources to compile research.

  • Regular and clear communication.

  • Accurate research with references and an attention to detail.

Availability:

This role will require approximately 3 hours of work a week, which can be undertaken remotely. Applicants should be available for a virtual meeting once a fortnight.
