Book Launch Celebrates Anglo-Jewish Heritage at Willesden Jewish Cemetery

On 19 July 2026 we were delighted to host the launch of Dayanim, Rabbanim and Reverend Gentlemen, the latest publication in a distinguished series celebrating the lives and contributions of those who have shaped Anglo-Jewish life.

Guests were welcomed to the House of Life by Miriam Marson, Head of Heritage, before hearing from the Chief Rabbi, Sir Ephraim Mirvis and the book's author, Professor David Latchman. The event brought together rabbis, communal leaders, patrons, supporters and friends to celebrate an important contribution to the history of British Jewry.

Following the launch, visitors enjoyed guided walks around the cemetery, exploring the graves of many of the rabbis and communal leaders featured in the publication, while others visited the Heritage Centre for refreshments and conversation.

The event highlighted Willesden Jewish Cemetery's unique role as a place where the stories of previous generations continue to inspire and educate, connecting the history preserved in books with the lives commemorated across the cemetery.

The book is available from the House of Life Heritage Centre at Willesden Jewish Cemetery
