Behind every name is a story worth preserving: visit to the Wiener Holocaust Library

At Willesden Jewish Cemetery, our volunteer guides are uncovering remarkable and often deeply moving stories spanning more than 150 years of Jewish life in Britain.

Last week, our guides had the privilege of a behind-the-scenes visit to the Wiener Holocaust Library (https://wienerholocaustlibrary.org), exploring its archives, significant collections and Reading Room.

For those researching the lives of individuals buried at Willesden the visit offered invaluable insights and resources to help bring these histories to light.

Our sincere thanks to Rosie and the team at @wienerholocaustlibrary for their warm welcome and for the vital work they do in preserving these histories for future generations.

Join us on Sunday 29 November for Lives Remembered, a special volunteer-led walk exploring stories of persecution, refuge and resilience, and their connections to the histories preserved by the Wiener Holocaust Library - more details coming soon.

An opportunity to discover how individual lives connect Willesden Jewish Cemetery to wider events in Jewish and European history.

Every story we uncover helps connect the past with the present.
